Procrastination is a complex behavioral disorder that affects us all over the world to a greater or lesser extent. It consists of systematically delaying tasks that we must do, that are crucial to our development and are replaced by more irrelevant but most enjoyable to perform. It is commonly assumed as simple laziness. It affects to multitude of profiles (the executive who time and again postponed a meeting because of conflicting anticipates, postponing indefinitely the student studying for their exams, etc.). And is becoming increasingly a serious problem that affects the psychological health of individuals and hence the social health of a community. Procrastination is a phenomenon that has been found of such complexity that it is difficult to analyze, for the complications presented to identify their origins and the many cause-effect relationships that are fed each other. All this paints a multifaceted picture is very complex to analyze. In this article however I will try at least "give it a nail" to the subject, with the help of some references that exist within the scientific literature on the subject. Procrastination manifests primarily as a lousy time management. The "procrastinating" often either overestimate the time remaining to complete a task or underestimate the time required, according to their own resources-to accomplish it. Here are just a few of the many deceptions in which incurs procrastinating. As discussed later, one of the typical attitudes of a particular profile to procrastinate is the excessive self-confidence., A false sense of self and safety. For example, imagine that we are given 15 days to file a report. In our heart of hearts we believe that we need only 5 days to do so, even less. At that point we thought "Plenty of time is not necessary even to begin to do it!". And day after day you postpone a task that not only do we look forward to, if not that, in a way "we're done" in our minds when we have not even confident lifted a finger to her. As we approach the deadline dangerously, suddenly, we realize we will not be able to accomplish the task assigned to us. Then we thought, "I have this under control, I will not have time!" and began to work on it jerky, with a great amount of stress. At that moment appears on the scene another delusion, and is one of "only work well under pressure." Naturally, because there really is no other option at that point!. Often this attitude and course of action is typical of people who rely heavily on their chances. If, moreover, is really well-the person actually has those capabilities, it is possible that the end of the story is that this task is delivered on time and with optimum results. This sends a wrong message to procrastinate apparently ( "look what I got to shout after all!") That has gained notice as a reward for a job stress, and repeats in his behavior, but it always brings anxiety and problems in general. The causes or reasons that might lead a person to suffer from procrastination are as varied and complex that it would be very tough to translate them into a single article. There are people who "procrastinating" resulting from a depressed mood (depression leads to states of lethargy). Others however are lovers of perfectionism, and this deprives you start making plans because they fear they can not make it as perfect as they wish, and therefore lose their motivation. Also a low tolerance for frustration, helps to "put things aside," for fear of spilling and therefore we fear how we feel then. Another would be very different profile from those very active people who enjoy brewing ideas, but can not complete due immediately generating distracted and the next, and so postponed dozens of tasks that obviously do not have time to complete. And that mention only a tiny portion of the many profiles that can be found procrastinating. Surely you're reading these lines has been identified in some of the phrases in this article. It was a reminder of himself reading the paper in the office with a list of tasks to be done, going to the cafeteria right in the moment he proposed to start a project, surfing the net while his phone rang with a client / boss uncomfortable Furthermore calling ... etc. That is a bad widespread and that it is a fascinating phenomenon in itself because of its complexity and richness of nuance, makes it worthwhile to study, both academic and already being done-and at the level individually and collectively.
